Kanoria Chemicals & Industries has successfully completed expansion of its formaldehyde production facility at Ankleshwar, Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 56.06 crores.
The new capacity of 345 tons per day (MTPD) will begin commercial production on September 6, 2024. The new formaldehyde production plant is based on the latest metal oxide technology. These new facilities with advanced technologies will meet the growing demand in various industries, including automotive, construction, agriculture, cosmetics and chemicals, in domestic and export markets. This will also help the company achieve sustainable and inclusive growth in line with the company’s vision.

In addition, the company has successfully increased the capacity of its existing methenamine plant at Ankleshwar, Gujarat by 18 tonnes per day. The expansion of the manufacturing facility at Ankleshwar will cater to the growing demand in various industries including domestic market and export of phenolics, textiles, agrochemicals, explosives, pharmaceuticals etc. The expansion has been completed at a cost of approximately Rs 127 million and commercial production will commence September 6, 2024.
